My design project is about being a facilitator of design awareness for the world outside our work field. In which the user could create an interior which shows more identity by using designs which contains a particular message.  By doing that the user can make a stronger and better statement about who he or she is and what he or she stands for. By using design and the story they tell, I hope these kind of products can be of extra value in someone’s life. My goal is to provide more information and access to designs and show the user how they could use designs.

Through my essay I would like to open up a new perspective on spatial design. I will show how spatial designs work as a reporter in our world, as well as they are a campaigns and activists. It shows how the message of society reflects back on designs and how needs have been translated into design. I will reveal that designs are always influenced by previous designs, like Bourriaud said in Postproduction: objects informed by other objects, so perhaps we shouldn’t speak of opening up new perspectives but of morphing perspectives.

Connecting Media Theory with spatial design will help to understand how we think and experience designs and how we come to our designs. Perhaps media theory can influence our design-decisions to send out a better message and make a more clear statement which people from outside our work field can understand. In this way I’m a facilitator of design awareness in the design-process.
