| I like the look of Minimalism in interior design. John Pawson, Claudio Silvestrin and Peter Zumthor design architecture with a focus on beautiful materials, without disturbing elements like plinths, knobs and handles. Materials like stone, wood, concrete and plaster have a very smooth surface and hard edges. Minimalism is still an influence on today's modern interiors. Materials are easy to clean, have a new look and will not damage quick. But I think something is missing in this interiors. The rooms are spaces for living, but the lives of human/users are not visible. It could be everyones like a anonymous hotel room. My Design: I'm going to make a design in which the use becomes visible more quick than normally. For the exhibition in september 2007 I will make a piece of floor, which folds into a chair and a table. The material is plaster on foam, which will crack when visitors walk or sit upon it. In ten days of exhibition the object will be changed. My Thesis: I want to introduce some new materials in Minimal Interior, which refer morer to human body. See you all in September!
