MaHKU continues as HKU MA programme Fine Art

In August the last MaHKU MA Fine cohort finished successfully.  As of September 2017 HKU University of the Arts Utrecht offers a new two-year MA programme in Fine Art. 
ABiotic Factors - MA Fine Art graduation show 2017

On June 23 this year's graduation show Abiotic Factors opens at BAK Utrecht.

Participants: Chao Wang, Dinos Milonas, Elena Pietrini Sanchez, Haoran Kang, Susan Tyler Jenkins, Tereza Telúchová, and Zhengqing Li.

Opening: June 23 17.00 – 19.00

TO SEMINAR 10.03 - 21.05 AT BAK

To Seminar, conceptualized by MaHKU dean Henk Slager, is a research exhibition on the seminar as a model that offers an alternative for learning and knowledge transference. The aim of the exhibition is to break the associated deadlock of the so-called “educational turn” in art through a rethinking of philosopher Roland Barthes’ concept of “seminar.”

A series of public gatherings—performances, talks, screenings, etc.—takes place in the course of this exhibition-as-seminar. Check the programme and come along. No registration required.

Re-thinking Home

On Sunday September 11 "Re-thinking Home" opened with (a.o.) a performance by Tiong Ang (MA Fine Art lecturer) and several MA Fine Art alumni. "Re-thinking Home" is part of a series of art events by the Tangible Past Foundation and runs until October 9 at Nieuw Dakota, Amsterdam.  Read more

UNIVERSALITY - Tiong Ang at 1st Asia Biennial / 5th Guangzhou Triennial

Tiong Ang's new work 'UNIVERSALITY - DECORUM OF THOUGHT AND DESIRE' (2015), presented at the 1ST ASIA BIENNIAL / 5TH GUANGZHOU TRIENNIAL as a total installation, brings together a diversity of reflections and subjective perspectives on how contemporary living intersects between ideas of autonomy, intercultural traffic, formal and informal exchange and our collective comprehension of the material world and its representations.

Artist Tiong Ang is also tutor of the MA Fine Art programme at MaHKU. Read more

MaHKU at 5th Guangzhou Triennial, China
November 10 2015
In the context of the project Universality - Decorum of Thought and Desire developed by MaHKU core tutor Tiong Ang, five alumni will participate in the 5th Guangzhou Triennial: Ingrid Edwards, Dongyoung Lee, Heekyung Ryu, Alejandro Ramirez and Robert Wittendorp.
