Fashion(clothes) meets car(design)
Cars are things of every day use, which Western people can’t live without. In Holland we have 165 cars per square kilometer.
I think the most fascinating thing about cars is the enthusiasm that a lot of Dutch men have for it. This is the same enthusiasm which women have for fashion(clothes).
Differences in magazines strengthen this point. Lifestyle magazines have sweet colours, the way women want it, and car magazines have more blue and grey tints. On television are lifestyle programs focused on women and car programs with men as target group.

As a creator of clothes I’m very interested how a car-desginer designs a new car. I expect a lot of differences between designing clothes and designing cars. For instance, a car-designer has has a lot of technical restrictions. Besides technical restrictions, the shape and material used for a prototype car are a glaring contrast with these of a garment.
But still there are similarities in designing clothes and cars.
Both industries have to be aware of the responsibilities of public attempt. For instance; in fashion industry, the development of materials that are less damage to environment and in car-industry the development of fuel-sparing cars.

My mission is to design a fashion collection with these things in mind.

The car has become an article of dress without which we feel uncertain, unclad, and incomplete.
