To apply to any of the one-year MA courses at the Utrecht Graduate School of Visual Art and Design, please:
- fill in the online application form
- write and upload a project proposal
- upload your portfolio
- upload all the required enclosures
How to write a project proposal We ask you for a project proposal that states the main subject area you wish to research and how you propose to research it. To give you an impression of what a project proposal may look like, here are real examples (pdf) written by students.

Application deadlines:
- December 15, 2011 (for students wishing to apply to a scholarship programme)
- April 30, 2012 (final application deadline for all students)
Please apply on time. Overseas students will need extra time to arrange for visa and funding. For more information on these subjects check the website of our student

Results:
We aim to let you know the results of your application within a month after the application deadlines. Based on your application, the admissions committee will decide whether you meet the entry requirements. If you live in the Netherlands, the admissions committee may select you for an interview. If you live outside the Netherlands, you may be contacted for additional information. As soon as the admissions committee has made a selection, you will receive a letter stating whether or not you have been admitted to the programme. If you are offered a place on the programme you will receive a registration form with which you formalise your registration.

There are no institutional grants or scholarships available from our school. For information about scholarships and grants, please check the

www.nuffic.nl or turn to scholarship programmes in your home country. The MA Design and MA Fine Art programmes are eligible for the
Netherlands Fellowship Programme. The NFP-scholarship is meant for mid-career professionals from 60 selected countries in Asia, Africa, Latin America and Eastern Europe.
International students - language requirements
If either Dutch or English is not your native language, you need to be able to demonstrate sufficient command of the English language through a TOEFL (minimum score of 85+ iBT) or IELTS 6.0 (with a minimum score of 6,0 on the subtests).
