Research PolicyAs a MaHKU student, you will reflect on your specific discipline, participate in interdisciplinary debates, and embark on the development of innovative insights for your own discipline and its professionals. In other words, you will be invited to participate in a topical theoretical discourse, i.e. the current written and spoken debate of your discipline linked to the broader context of the field of Critical Studies. Interdisciplinary work is central to the programme. The broad scope of the Utrecht Graduate School of Visual Art and Design (MaHKU) includes programmes in: The five disciplines offer numerous possibilities for interdisciplinary debates, encounters, and seminars. We believe that in the confrontation with other creative fields, you will increase your capacity to reflect in both a theoretical and creative sense on your own discipline. In the Critical Studies Course seminars focus on a topical research discourse. In these seminars you will be presented with current forms of artistic thought, terminologies, and points of view. This will help you to develop a research-based attitude in your creative production and communication and facilitate the presentation of your visual production. |  |
