Christina LiGuest Lecturer
Christina Li is an independent curator based in Hong Kong and The Netherlands. Until recently, she was involved with the research and project management of the FORMER WEST project. She studied art history and comparative literature at the University of Hong Kong in Hong Kong and participated in the de Appel Curatorial Programme in Amsterdam in 2008 – 2009. She was part of the editorial team of Actors, Agents and Attendants: Speculations on the cultural organisation of civility (2010), the debut symposia series of SKOR, Amsterdam with Fulya Erdemci, Andrea Phillips and Markus Miessen. She co-curated (with Tobias Berger and Yung Ma) Hong Kong’s representation Making (Perfect) World: Harbour, Hong Kong, Alienated Cities and Dreams by Pak Sheung Chuen at the 53rd Venice Biennale (2009). She has previously worked as a Curator of Para/Site Art Space (Hong Kong) during which she focused her interests in researching on artistic practices in the Pearl River Delta and developing a discourse within the delta region that relates to the context of Hong Kong contemporary art and culture. As a writer she has contributed to magazines and publications such as artinculture (Korea), Rong bai zai (China) and Taiping Tianguo (exhibition catalogue, Para/site, Hong Kong) among others.
